February 28, 2019 Monthly Support Meeting
Please make plans to attend our February 28th Meeting at Church of the Resurrection, Leawood KS as we are excited to have Leslie Martin, CNTP as our guest Speaker.
Leslie Martin, CNTP (Certified Nutrition Therapy Practitioner) is a member of the LAGKC and will be speaking to us at our February 28, 2019 monthly support meeting. Leslie will speak to us about an hour, along with Q&A, on general nutrition with information on specific Lyme related issues such as inflammatory conditions, energy, mental health concerns, digestive issues and detoxification. We will also learn the sourcing of food and why we should be including and avoiding certain foods in our meals.
We look forward to hearing from Leslie as we all learn new things together. You won’t want to miss it! Hope to see you there!

March 28, 2019 Monthly Support Meeting
Please make plans to attend our March 28th Meeting at Church of the Resurrection, Leawood KS as we are excited to have Dr. Jaban Moore as our guest Speaker.
Dr. Jaban Moore is a National Board Certified Chiropractic Physician. He practices functional medicine looking for the root cause of illness and treating through natural protocols.
Dr. Moore’s passion for restoring health through a multi-therapeutic approach came from a young age when his mother was diagnosed with Diabetes after a 3-year struggle trying to figure out what was causing her health to decline. She was diagnosed only because she was in a car accident and in the ER, she was told that she was diabetic. By this point she had gained 100 lbs, her cholesterol was out of control, she had ulcers in her stomach, depression, high blood pressure, and chronic fatigue. Growing up Dr. Moore watched his mother’s condition progress adding new medications and symptoms by the year never curing or making her feel better for long just stabilizing one symptom until the next started. This eventually lead to thyroid cancer and 2 surgeries to remove the cancer. Through this experience, Dr. Moore found his mission to discover the root cause of a condition so that the progression can be stopped so the next person doesn’t have to go through a story like hers.
His mission progressed even further when, during chiropractic school, his own health journey began he started to decline physically rapidly with no known cause at the age of 25. Over the next year, he searched for answers with many different doctors. He was experiencing, fatigue, joint pain, and low testosterone. After not finding many answers from several doctors, he went to a conference of functional medicine doctors. It was there he met one who suggested the possibility of Lyme disease. After some testing and further investigation, Dr. Moore was found to be positive for Lyme. This began his journey of learning how to treat it. After consulting several doctors and trying many treatments, Dr.Moore found relief and has been symptom-free for over 5 years now. NOTE: Meeting will be held in the Wesley Covenant Chapel at Church of the Resurrection, not our normal meeting room.

March 28, 2019 Meeting Presentation - "Why is Lyme so hard to overcome?"
Dr. Moore will be presenting as to why each person presents differently with Lyme. There are many different factors, such as epigenetics, toxins, co- infections and many others, in which we will be talking about these things to try to get an idea of the bigger picture. From there, we will be looking at ways of how to work with the body against the disease to help decrease symptoms or even become symptom free in some cases.
April 25, 2019 Monthly Support Meeting
Please make plans to attend our April 25th Meeting in the Wesley Chapel at Church of the Resurrection, Leawood KS as we are excited to have Dr. Joseph Brewer as our guest Speaker.
Dr. Brewer is an infectious disease specialist in Kansas City, Mo. Dr. Brewer is in private practice with Plaza Infectious Disease and also is a consulting physician at St. Luke’s Hospital of Kansas City. He is an assistant clinical professor of medicine at the University of Missouri – Kansas City School of Medicine. Dr. Brewer is involved in clinical teaching at St. Luke’s and UMKC. He has been in practice for over 30 years including clinical practice of infectious disease, teaching responsibilities and clinical research. Dr. Brewer has had a long- standing interest in chronic illness patients including chronic fatigue syndrome and Lyme disease. Since 2012, Dr. Brewer has been studying the role of toxic mold and mycotoxins in chronic illness. This research has resulted in several new findings. Dr. Brewer and his colleagues have published several papers on the subject of toxic mold.
Dr. Brewer will be speaking to us about new developments in Lyme Disease including the relationship with Mast Cell Activation Syndrome. There will be a presentation and a time for Q & A. We look forward to this as we head into May Lyme Awareness Month! NOTE: Meeting will be held in the Wesley Covenant Chapel at Church of the Resurrection, not our normal meeting room.
July 25, 2019 Monthly Support Meeting
Please make plans to attend our July 25th Meeting at Church of the Resurrection, Leawood KS as we are excited to have Sharon J. Meyers as our guest Speaker.
Sharon Meyers has specialized exclusively in the area of Social Security disability law since receiving her Juris Doctor degree in 1981 from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law. Since that time, she has represented a multitude of disabled clients who suffered from a wide variety of different impairments. She is a sustaining member of the National Organization of Social Security Claimants' Representatives. Sharon is a member of the Missouri Bar and the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association. She is licensed to practice in the Federal District Courts of Kansas and Missouri, as well as in the Eighth and Tenth Circuit Courts of Appeals.

A life-long Kansas Citian, Ms. Meyers received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology in 1978 from UMKC, after graduating from St. Teresa’s Academy. She enjoys spending time with her husband and children, grandchildren, and large extended family. She also likes traveling, walking, playing tennis and the piano. She is active in her church and is blessed to have a wonderful, bright, and talented group of people as her staff to assist in providing the best legal representation possible to the disabled.
